What to expect at a Pahrump mobile ultrasound visit
By HDS Mobile Ultrasound ·
A Pahrump mobile ultrasound visit brings imaging to an agreed home or clinic location. Here is a practical guide to arranging the appointment, the general scanning process and the questions to ask afterward.

Before anyone arrives: confirm the appointment
Submitting the HDS booking form starts a request; it does not reserve a confirmed appointment. The team follows up to discuss the exam, requirements, location, availability and total price. Ask about any clinician’s order and preparation instructions before agreeing the visit.
HDS covers Pahrump, including Mountain Falls and the Manse area. Pahrump is outside the Las Vegas Valley, so longer-distance travel is coordinated directly. Do not assume a fixed arrival time or same-day availability.
At your home or clinic
Have the agreed space accessible and confirm how the team should enter the property. Ask the person performing the scan to explain the examination, positioning and what clothing needs to be moved. You can raise questions or concerns before it begins.
For a typical external ultrasound, gel is placed on the skin and a handheld probe moves over the area being examined. The machine forms images from sound waves; ultrasound does not use ionizing radiation. Pressure from the probe may be uncomfortable over a tender area, so let the examiner know if something hurts.
Not every exam is performed the same way. If an internal examination is proposed, ask HDS whether that approach is available for your requested mobile visit, why it is recommended and what the consent and privacy arrangements are. General descriptions of internal ultrasound do not mean it is included in every HDS scan.
Time, comfort and privacy
Ask HDS how much time to set aside for your particular exam and visit setup; no fixed duration has been confirmed here. You may be asked to change position or briefly hold your breath, depending on the views needed.
Discuss mobility or positioning needs before the appointment. If you want a support person present, ask how that can be arranged while protecting your privacy. Keep medical records and detailed health information out of the public booking form.
After the scan: ask how results are handled
Do not assume the scan operator will provide a diagnosis during the visit or that a report arrives immediately. Confirm who interprets the images, what the report includes, how it reaches you or your treating clinician, and the expected timing. HDS report arrangements have not been specified in this guide.
- Who will interpret my images?
- When should I expect the report, and who should I contact if it is delayed?
- Should my treating clinician review the results with me?
- Are any additional exams or follow-up visits separate charges?
For a medical emergency, call 911 rather than waiting for a mobile ultrasound appointment or report.
